About the Role:
This is a Fixed Term / Part Time position to cover Parental Leave for 12 months, at 0.8 FTE / 60.8 hours per fortnight within the Mental Health department, working with the Hospital Consultation-Liaison (HCL) team.
You will be responsible for providing high-quality tertiary mental health consultation and care for children and adolescents who are inpatients of RCH medical and surgical wards or patients of the Emergency Department.
Classification for this position is Multidisciplinary - Gr 2 Allied Health, or Gr 3 Nursing.
Occupational Therapist (YB20-YB23), Psychologist (PK1-PK4), Social Worker (YC42-YC45), Speech Pathologist (YB47-YB50), or Grade 3 Registered Psychiatric Nurse (NP81-NP83) (base salary between $70,425 to $86,748 per annum, plus superannuation).
What you’ll achieve:
* Deliver excellent evidence-based psychiatric assessments and interventions to RCH inpatients.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
* Communicate effectively with patients and families to ensure understanding and inclusion of their needs and views in care plans.
Your skills and experience:
* Entry to practice tertiary qualification.
* Post-qualifying clinical experience.
* Commitment to teamwork and contribution.
* Demonstrated clinical practice beyond entry level.
* Psychologists must hold a minimum Masters degree (in Clinical, Neuropsychology, Education/Development, or Psychology).

About the Department:
RCH Mental Health offers community- and hospital-based services, including three multidisciplinary outpatient teams based in Travancore, Sunshine, and Hoppers Crossing. Teams are led by a partnership between a Team Coordinator and a Consultant Psychiatrist, responsible for operational and clinical excellence.
