Project Manager Role Overview
This senior position is responsible for facilitating the Project Management Office (PMO) Centre of Excellence and Portfolio Management functions. The role includes promoting a culture of transparency and continuous improvement, training and educating staff across all levels in best practices, and enabling effective prioritization, governance, and resource allocation to meet strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* To provide tailored guidance, advice, and training to staff and executives in the implementation and use of project and portfolio management frameworks, processes, and systems.
* Strong program and project management abilities to develop, maintain, and continuously improve Council's project and portfolio management frameworks, processes, and systems.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills to create consensus, resolve disputes, and broker agreement to proposals and ideas.
* Exceptional organizational skills to effectively develop and administer training and mentoring programs.
* Excellent communication and change management skills to engage colleagues and management in adoption of Council's project and portfolio management frameworks, processes, and systems.

This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
