The Child Health Research Unit (CHRU) led by Prof Peter Vuillermin is made up of multidisciplinary team who are committed to improving child health outcomes. Two significant research projects are run through CHRU; the Barwon Infant Study (BIS) and the Environmental Determinants of Islet Autoimmunity Study (ENDIA).
About the role
Are you passionate about child health and interested in a career in research?
The Psychologist is primarily responsible for providing supervision and oversight of Research Assistants conducting neurodevelopmental assessments within a school/community based and in-clinic setting. As part of the BIS Primary School review, participants (aged 8-11) will be administered a range of neurodevelopmental assessments including the WISC subtests. The Psychologist is required to coordinate training, establish standardization and quality assurance processes, and clinical referrals as necessary.
About the culture
BIS is an investigation into the early life origins of non-communicable diseases in the modern environment. The study currently follows approximately 1000 participants born to mothers recruited during pregnancy. For more information, please visit our website
