We are seeking an experienced and hands‐on Financial Controller / Senior Finance Manager to join our team. Reporting directly to Directors, this role is responsible for overseeing the finance function while supporting business performance through accurate reporting, financial analysis, and operational insight. This is a key role suited to a finance professional who can operate both hands‐on and commercially, supporting day‐to‐day accounting while providing meaningful insights to the leadership team.

About the Role

As our Financial Controller / Senior Finance Manager, you will manage the full finance function, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and compliance with Australian regulatory requirements.

A key component of this role is delivering monthly reporting and analysis to Directors on store performance, revenue, and business viability, alongside managing year‐end financials and audit preparation.

Financial Management & Operations
* Oversee daily financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, payments, and cash flow
* Manage bank reconciliations, electronic payments, and fund transfers
* Maintain accurate financial records, including foreign currency transactions (USD)
* Oversee purchase orders, invoicing, and supplier management
Payroll & Compliance
* Oversee payroll processing and superannuation payments
* Ensure compliance with PAYG, BAS, and payroll tax obligations
* Manage multi‐state payroll tax requirements (QLD, TAS)
* Oversee workers compensation requirements and reporting
Management Reporting & Analysis
* Prepare monthly management accounts and financial performance reports
* Deliver Director reporting on store performance, revenue, and profitability/viability
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
* Provide financial insights to support decision‐making and business strategy
Reconciliations & Accounting
* Perform monthly reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities
* Maintain general ledger integrity and financial accuracy
* Manage EOM and EOFY processes
* Maintain fixed asset register and internal control systems
Tax, Audit & Statutory Reporting
* Prepare and submit BAS and statutory returns
* Manage payroll tax compliance and reporting
* Prepare annual financial statements for audit
* Liaise with external accountants and auditors
* Complete ABS and other regulatory reporting
Business Improvement & Support
* Review and improve financial systems, processes, and controls
* Support cost allocation and overhead distribution processes
* Assist with investment, risk management, and strategic planning
* Ensure accuracy of data across accounting systems (MYOB/AccountRight and internal systems)
About You

You are a commercially minded and detail‐oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a hands‐on environment. You are comfortable managing the full finance function while contributing to business performance and decision‐making.

Qualifications & Experience
* Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or Senior Accountant role
* Strong experience in management reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis
* Experience preparing year‐end financials and managing audits
* Strong knowledge of Australian tax and compliance requirements
* Experience with MYOB/AccountRight and advanced Excel skills
* Retail or multi‐site experience advantageous
