Business development manager South Australia and Adelaide
Flexible arrangement | Base salary + commission | Report to Clinical Director
Australia's only third‐party accredited specialist home nursing provider for ventilator‐dependent adults and children is expanding — and we're looking for an exceptional individual to lead that growth across South Australia.
Intensive Care at Home (ICAH) supports some of the most medically complex patients in the country — people who depend on mechanical ventilators, tracheostomies, and around‐the‐clock critical care nursing to live at home instead of in a hospital or institution. We are ISO 9001:2015 certified, NDIS registered, and audited to zero non‐conformances. Our work changes lives.
About the Opportunity
This is a rare and genuinely exciting role. South Australia represents a largely untapped market for ICAH — and the person who steps into this position will have the chance to build something meaningful from the ground up.
You will be the face of ICAH in SA. You will open doors in hospitals, ICUs, rehabilitation centres, NDIS planning networks, and community health — creating referral pathways that connect medically complex patients and families with the care they need to come home.
As the client base grows, you will also recruit, develop, and lead a team of critical care registered nurses on the ground in South Australia — evolving from business developer into clinical team leader.
What You Will Do
* Identify and cultivate referral relationships with ICU consultants, discharge planners, NDIS coordinators, rehabilitation physicians, neurologists, respiratory physicians, and hospital executives across SA
* Develop and execute a market growth strategy for the SA/Adelaide region, reporting directly to the Clinical Director
* Represent ICAH at clinical meetings, NDIS planning meetings, and relevant conferences and networks
* Drive the full business development cycle — from initial outreach and relationship building through to service agreement and care commencement
* Grow and lead a local nursing team as client volumes increase, providing clinical leadership and oversight where appropriate
* Collaborate with the ICAH clinical operations team to ensure seamless transition from hospital to home for each client
* Contribute to ICAH's profile and reputation in SA through advocacy, education, and presence
Who We Are Looking For
* Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) with ICU experience who is ready to step into a leadership and business development role
* Former hospital executive or clinical manager with deep networks across SA health
* Medical professional — doctor, advanced practice clinician — with a drive to create better outcomes outside the hospital system
* NDIS Specialist Support Coordinator or Plan Manager with a strong understanding of complex disability and home care funding
* Case manager, discharge planner, or allied health professional with proven ability to navigate the health and NDIS ecosystem
Whatever your background, what matters most is this:
* You have an established network in South Australian health, disability, or NDIS circles — and you know how to use it
* You are a natural relationship builder who can walk into a room, earn trust quickly, and keep it
* You understand the complexity of ventilator‐dependent and NDIS‐funded care — or you're hungry to learn it deeply
* You have the drive and commercial acumen to open a new market almost from scratch
* You want to build something — not just fill a role
* You hold or are eligible for AHPRA registration (for clinicians) and meet NDIS Worker Screening requirements
What We Offer
* A competitive base salary plus a performance‐based commission structure
* A flexible working arrangement — we care about results, not rigid schedules
* The autonomy to build your own market with the full backing of a nationally accredited, operationally mature team
* Direct access to and mentorship from the Clinical Director (a CCRN with 25+ years of ICU experience)
* A mission‐driven organisation where the work you do genuinely changes lives
* A clear pathway into a senior clinical and operational leadership role as the SA team grows
