The Rental Support position at our Wetherill Park branch is a unique and varied role, ideally suited to a mechanically minded individual with a strong eye for detail, who enjoys getting on the road and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring our rental fleet, (ranging from utility vehicles through to 22-pallet trailers) is ready for hire, well-maintained, and accurately tracked.
The standard working schedule is an 8:00am start with a 4:00pm finish, with overtime as required.
About the Role
The primary function of this role is to prepare and maintain our refrigerated truck rental fleet to ensure they meet TRS standards for presentation, safety, and readiness. This hands-on position plays a key role in supporting rental operations, fleet availability, and high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Department Support
* Carry out on-hire and off-hire inspections, including condition reports and photos.
* Liaise with the Rental Manager to record required repairs or service works (mechanical and cosmetic).
* Assist in preparing vehicles for scheduled bookings.
* Facilitate vehicle deliveries and retrievals as directed (local, regional, and interstate).
* Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised rental area, ensuring adequate stock and consumables.
Vehicle Preparation
* Ensure vehicles are thoroughly detailed and presented to the required standard.
* Ensure vehicles are ready and refuelled on schedule for customer bookings.
* Conduct essential vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
* Inspect, photograph, and record vehicle damage.
Qualifications & Skills
* Unrestricted manual driver's licence (essential).
* HC licence preferred; MR licence upgrade may be considered for the right candidate.
* Forklift licence (advantageous).
* Strong attention to detail with a solid work ethic.
* Mechanically minded, with the aptitude to perform minor repairs (advantageous).
* Process-driven, yet flexible and adaptable when priorities change.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Vehicles are fitted with industry-leading Thermo King refrigeration units and are maintained to strict safety, compliance, and presentation standards.
RTR plays a critical role in supporting customers during peak periods, breakdowns, seasonal demand, and short-term projects, making this a hands-on, operationally important part of the TRS business.
