Business Advisory Roles: Key Responsibilities and Requirements
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our high-performing team in Geelong. As a pivotal member of our close-knit team, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns, supporting clients with complex tax matters, and guiding junior team members through their development.
Main Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with client managers to manage a portfolio across a diverse range of industries.
* Apply technical knowledge to prepare special purpose reports, financial statements, tax returns, and reconciliations for companies, partnerships, and trusts.
* Prepare monthly management reports, cash flow statements, and clear working papers.
* Develop and manage client budgets and forecasts.
* Assist with consulting work, including the provision of tailored tax advice.
* Review and provide quality feedback on junior team members' work, supporting their growth through coaching and delegation.
Requirements:
* A Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or equivalent degree.
* Completed CA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in accounting, ideally within public practice.
* Experience working with medium to large businesses and multi-entity structures.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Motivation to grow professionally and contribute to team development.
* A genuine interest in mentoring and upskilling junior team members.
* Ability to develop trusted relationships with both clients and colleagues.
