About the role

As a Senior Presales Engineer, you’ll be the technical lead on pre‑sales engagements for fleet and telematics solutions. You’ll work closely with Sales, Engineering, Product, and third‑party integrators to understand client fleet operations, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and safety, and design solutions that meet both business and technical requirements.

You’ll act as the subject matter expert in connected fleet technologies, providing guidance on vehicle telematics, IoT, and remote diagnostics. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll translate complex fleet and vehicle data into actionable solutions, support pilots and deployments, and ensure seamless integration of software and hardware across a client’s fleet.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will lead technical pre‑sales engagements with clients, conducting consultations, workshops, and product demonstrations focused on fleet telematics, connected vehicles, and IoT‑enabled fleet management solutions. You will design and propose tailored solutions that optimise fleet performance, safety, and operational efficiency, preparing detailed technical proposals, responses to RFPs/RFQs, and client presentations. Collaborating closely with engineering, product, and operations teams, you will ensure smooth integration of telematics systems, mobile applications, and embedded devices into client fleets. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging fleet technologies, provide guidance and troubleshooting during deployment, and continuously enhance solutions based on fleet performance data. You will also build robust relationships with clients, partners, and third‑party integrators, representing the business at industry events, forums, and fleet technology conferences.

About you

You’re an experienced technical professional with a strong commercial mindset and the ability to communicate clearly across both technical and business audiences. You enjoy engaging with customers, crafting solutions that solve real problems, and working in a rapid‑moving environment where innovation and teamwork drive success.

You’ll bring:

- 10+ years’ experience in solutions or presales engineering, ideally within connected tech, IoT, or telematics.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems, CAN communication, and telematics architectures.
- Technical proficiency across tools such as SQL, C#, JavaScript, and data analysis in Excel.
- Proven ability to manage multiple pre‑sales projects and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
- Experience leading technical responses for tenders and proposals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging clients at all levels.
