An exciting opportunity exists for a Occupational Therapist Senior Brain and Spinal Cord Injury.
The Senior Occupational Therapist provides evidence-based occupational therapy services to adults with brain injury and spinal cord injury within a high-functioning multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. The role requires clinical reasoning, leadership in complex patient management, and a strong commitment to person-centred, goal-directed rehabilitation.
Working collaboratively alongside Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC), Rehabilitation Physician, Neuropsychologist, Social Worker, Psychologist, Physiotherapist, Speech Pathologist, Admin Officer (AO) and Clinical Assistant, the Senior Occupational Therapist contributes to coordinated, high-quality rehabilitation.
The role involves comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, and intervention for patients with complex physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and functional impairments. A strong focus is placed on maximising independence, participation, and quality of life, with particular emphasis on return to personal activities of daily living (PADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), work, community participation, and driving where appropriate.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
* Deliver independent high level Occupational Therapy clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
* Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
* Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced Occupational Therapy practitioners and students as delegated.
* Take a leadership role in the monitoring of professional clinical standards and outcomes, service improvement activities, Performance and Development Plans (PDP), quality activities, evidence-based practice, clinical research programs
Remuneration value up to $157 359 p.a., comprising salary between $128 169 - $137 918 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (Fixed Term Temporary position available for up to 12 months).
