Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.About The RoleAs an Enrolled Nurse, you will deliver specialised withdrawal (detox) nursing care, including clinical assessments, physical and mental health support, and referrals for addiction-related medical treatment.
Care will be delivered in a safe, culturally sensitive manner that aligns with The Salvation Army's values, mission, and applicable legislation and clinical guidelines.How You Will Make An ImpactYou will contribute to high-quality recovery-focused services through:Conducting nursing assessments, interventions, and monitoring in accordance with:Queensland Alcohol and Drug Withdrawal Clinical Practice GuidelinesDrug and Alcohol Withdrawal Clinical Practice GuidelinesRecovery Services Policy & ProceduresTSA (The Salvation Army) policies and valuesCollaborating with visiting and on-site medical officers as requiredAdministering and dispensing medications for withdrawal managementManaging client admissions and dischargesCompleting accurate documentation and clinical handoversActively participating in continuous improvement and best-practice service deliveryWhat You Will BringRecognised Enrolled Nurse qualifications and current AHPRA registrationMinimum 2 years' relevant nursing experience, including mental health supportUp-to-date knowledge of clinical withdrawal management guidelinesBlue Card (mandatory for Townsville & Mount Isa sites)Current Driver's Licence (preferred)Strong skills in triage, clinical assessment, decision-making, and crisis responseAbility to communicate effectively with individuals experiencing complex and challenging behavioursKnowledge and application of WHS practices in accordance with TSA policies and legislative requirementsWhat We OfferSalary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.Flexible working arrangements.Access to EAP and health & wellness initiativesOngoing training and development opportunities that enhance on the job skills and proficiency.Rewarding and fulfilling purpose driven careers that have positive and sustainable / social impacts.About UsThe Salvation Army (Salvos) is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities.
