Our preference is for this role to be based in Adelaide or Melbourne, however consideration may be given to strong candidates in other locations.Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, you will act as a true subject matter expert, providing strategic, commercial and pragmatic advice to business leaders and People team on a full range of employment, industrial relations and case coaching matters.The role will also be responsible for supporting the development of policy, practical measures, and an ER-knowledge suite aimed at ensuring sound and legally compliant business practices.Embrace the camaraderie of our exceptional team environment, and the opportunity to work in an organisation that nurtures your personal growth and professional development.Take advantage of our flexible working arrangements, including the option of a 9-day fortnight and a hybrid working model.Key ResponsibilitiesPartnering with key stakeholders across the business to manage employment and industrial relations matters, including case coachingProviding advice and coaching to our People Business Partnering teams and leaders across the business on performance management, investigations, disciplinary matters, termination, re-organisations and other mattersAdvising on enterprise agreements, modern awards, employment contracts and Company policies and processes, etcSupporting the business with periodic enterprise bargaining processesSupporting the design and implementation of compliance-focused measures, including a modern policy suite, and ER knowledge baseSupporting the delivery of key transformational projects at a business level, where relevant aligning with wider People and enterprise strategy, and with oversight from Head of Employee RelationsProactively identifying and supporting the design and delivery of appropriately focused ER/IR training for People Business Partners and People LeadersIndependently work with and influence key stakeholders across all business levels, as well as externally with trade unions and external advisors as requiredDeveloping and maintaining positive relationships with internal, external and customer stakeholders.About YOUYou’ll have:Strong knowledge of employment and industrial relations framework, with significant prior experience as an ER/IR practitionerPrior experience as in-house employment counsel or employment lawyer in private practice, will be highly regarded but is not a pre-requisiteDemonstrated experience managing bargaining and industrial disputation effectively and pragmaticallyDemonstrated experience in designing and implementing modern ER/IR policies, and effective measures aimed at complying with a wide range of legal requirementsExperience advising on and managing ER/IR and employment law matters, including enterprise bargaining, modern awards and case managementExperience managing ER/IR claims in Courts and TribunalsA continuous improvement mindsetComputer literacy, with intermediate knowledge of full MS SuiteAs a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances.
