StandTo Legal is a growing Perth-based practice built around one simple idea: great legal work should be human, clear, and genuinely helpful.
A big part of our work is supporting current and former ADF members and their families—people who often come to us after long periods of stress, uncertainty, and systems fatigue.
We also act for non-veteran clients across a mix of commercial law, estate planning and administration, and family law matters.
If you're a junior lawyer who wants meaningful client work, variety, strong mentoring, and flexibility that's actually real, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
Veterans-related matters (client conferencing, evidence review, drafting, file management, preparing advice and submissions)
Commercial law (contracts, business advice, general commercial drafting)
Wills & estates (estate planning, probate/letters of administration support, file progression, correspondence)
Family law (client communication, drafting, court documents, procedural steps and preparation)
Depending on your experience, you'll gradually take on more direct carriage of matters (with supervision and a safety net).
Qualifications
0–2 years PAE (or soon-to-be admitted)
Warm, professional, and able to communicate with empathy (especially with clients under pressure)
A strong writer who can draft clear, practical documents
Organised, proactive, and comfortable owning tasks end-to-end
Values-driven – you genuinely want to help people, not just "do files"
Interested in building breadth across multiple practice areas
Bonus (not essential)
Any exposure to client service roles, community work, advocacy, or working with vulnerable clients
An understanding of (or interest in learning) trauma-aware client communication
