Underground Electrician - Goldfields (7/7 Roster | 3-Month Contract) The Opportunity
We are currently seeking experienced Underground Electricians for an underground mine in the Goldfields region. This role offers a balanced 7/7 roster, competitive rates, and the opportunity to work on critical underground infrastructure and mobile equipment.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting underground electrical systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation across key mining assets.
Your duties will include:
* Maintenance and fault finding on underground electrical systems
* Working with high voltage systems, electrical reticulation, and instrumentation
* Diagnosing faults on mobile equipment including Sandvik drill rigs
* Supporting automation and PLC-controlled systems
* Ensuring compliance with site safety standards and procedures
* Maintenance on headframe equipment (Cage and Skip Winder)
* Surface and underground ore handling maintenance (crushers, rock breakers, conveyors, magnets, grizzly feeders)
* HV switching on 11kV ABB switchgear
* Cable tracing and fault finding on material handling systems
* Maintenance of dewatering pumps (surface and underground)
* Small electrical installations and statutory RCD checks
* Issuing permits to work and isolation certificates
About You
* Underground mining experience - desirable
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities
* Experience with PLC systems and automation technology
* A proactive attitude and commitment to safety and quality work
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems
Requirements
* Valid Australian working rights
* Construction White Card
* Australian recognised Electrical Trade Certificate
* Current WA Electrical Workers Licence (Energy Safety)
* Current Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) certificate
* Current First Aid and CPR certificates
* Certificate III or IV in Instrumentation (desirable)
