Join a Local Council as a Parking Officer, Monitor and regulate breaches by using a combination of the following methods: warnings, education, infringements. Establish and maintain a balance between community education and enforcement of punitive legislation.
- 35 hours per week, between the hours of 7:30am-7:30pm Monday to Sunday
- Based in Merrylands
- 3-month contract, with potential to extend
- $30.95 per hour + Superannuation
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Issuing of infringements under the SEINS system.
- Patrol Council free car parks to ensure the safety of people and property within the car park and to also maximise vehicular turnover and the availability of car spaces.
- Patrols of the LGA for on street parking including the issuing of infringements
- Prepare briefs for Court matters and present evidence required for Court.
- Provide written and/or verbal evidence to appropriate persons.
- Receive complaints, determine their priority and undertake effective and appropriate action.
- Complete and maintain infringement books/PDA's, and ensure they are kept protected and legible.
**Requirements and Qualifications**:
- Experience interpreting legislation & understanding of Road Transport Act 2013.
- Knowledge of Local Government and related legislation, regulation and polices.
- Strong Verbal and Written communication skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with the public.
- Successful completion of dealing with aggressive people.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexible, reliable and responsible
- Hold a current NSW Drivers Licence
