Join to apply for the Project Mechanical Lead role at AECOM. Due to a recent project win, our Building Services Team are looking for a Project Mechanical Lead, based out of Adelaide or Melbourne, to work on an iconic program of works.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design management and delivery of complex building services design requirements within the Defence and nuclear sector, ensuring technical excellence and strict confidentiality at all stages.
- Oversee and coordinate mechanical team delivery, driving performance to deliver on time, on budget, and in full compliance with scope and quality requirements.
- Provide high-level technical leadership in mechanical design, including complex ventilation systems, advanced manufacturing, laboratories, clean room environments, and industrial-type facilities.
- Engage directly with the multi-disciplinary design team, clients and various stakeholders to develop solid relationships, lead design workshops, and deliver drawings, reports, cost plans, and technical documentation.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment of technical delivery across project workstreams.
Qualifications
- Ideally, at least 10+ years’ experience as a mechanical services engineer, at Principal or Associate Director level, with a proven track record in delivering technically complex building services projects.
- Chartered Engineer or professional member of relevant professional body.
- Strong track record in mechanical design for complex projects and highly regulated environments with expertise across diverse project types and design applications.
- Demonstrated design management experience, including technical delivery, project planning, and leadership of mechanical services teams.
- Proficient in software and tools including Revit, Revizto, Camel, IES, and all Microsoft Office applications.
- Due to the nature of this project – current (or the ability to obtain) Defence clearance is crucial.
