We’re partnering with a major Australian bank on a high-impact transformation program, and we’re looking for a Principal Engineer to lead the rebuild of a critical Credit Risk platform from the ground up.
This is not a BAU role. It’s a true greenfield opportunity where you’ll shape architecture, influence strategy, and embed AI-first engineering practices into a large-scale, enterprise environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Own the technical vision, architecture, and roadmapfor a next‑gen Credit Risk platform
* Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team (15+)
* Drive adoption of modern engineering practices (CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, IaC)
* Embed AI-assisted development (coding agents, LLM workflows, RAG pipelines) into delivery
* Collaborate with Risk, Product, and Business stakeholders to translate complex requirements
* Design scalable, cloud-native systems using microservices and event-driven architecture
* Contribute hands‑on to key technical decisions and complex builds
What We’re Looking For
* 12+ years in software engineering, including experience at Principal or Engineering Manager level
* Proven track record leading large, distributed engineering teams
* Experience delivering complex greenfield platforms or large-scale transformation programs
* Strong background in backend engineering (Java, Kotlin, Python, etc.) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
* Deep understanding of microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, and DDD
* Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
* Exposure to AI-assisted development (LLMs, coding agents, automation tools)
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and business teams
Highly Regarded
* Experience in Credit Risk, Market Risk, or Capital Markets
* Understanding of PD, LGD, EAD, scorecards, and decisioning systems
* Experience with platforms like Murex, Calypso, Moody’s, or similar
* Exposure to data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Spark)
* Thought leadership or contributions in AI-driven engineering
