Operations Engineer

Monday to Friday Roster 5/2, 3/4
We are seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to join our Technical Services team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, this role plays a critical part in supporting underground operations through strong technical input, continuous improvement, and effective collaboration with site leadership. This is a Monday to Friday roster with weekend standby every 3-5 weeks.
This position is ideal for a mining engineer with solid underground experience who enjoys working closely with operations to deliver safe, efficient, and production-focused outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives across underground operations
* Manage small to medium mining projects within the Mining Department
* Provide technical and operational support to superintendents, supervisors and underground crews
* Proactively manage underground ventilation planning, monitoring and optimisation, including emissions considerations
* Assist in meeting statutory ventilation obligations to support increased production targets (>500 ktpa)
* Support the planning and implementation of mine dewatering activities
* Provide technical support during the reintroduction of owner-operator development, CRF, shotcrete and concrete batching
* Assist with drill and blast optimisation where required
* Conduct data-driven performance analysis, including bottleneck identification and equipment utilisation
About You
* Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline (preferred)
* Minimum 3 years' underground mining experience, with strong operational exposure
* Sound understanding of underground hard-rock mining methods
* Working knowledge of mine design and scheduling software (e.g. Deswik)
* Strong project management and problem-solving skills
* High level of communication, organisation and time-management skills
* Demonstrated ability to identify hazards and conduct risk assessments
* Strong commitment to safety, health and environmental standards
