We have an opportunity at our Warwick QLD depot for a qualified metal fabricator to join our experienced workshop team. The role requires the successful applicant to maintain Wickham Freight Lines' fleet to a high standard, while working within a team environment. Regular repairs, maintenance, modifications and services are to be carried out using workshop facilities at a satisfactory level of service in a timely and effective manner.
Responsibilities:
* Operating welding equipment and tools
* Welding and fabrication of various metal structures and components
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
* Maintaining equipment
* Fabrication of new equipment
* Remove damaged panels and parts
* Remove dents in panels
* Replace badly damaged sections
* Finishing and cleaning products.
* Create an efficient workshop by working within a team environment and to certain deadlines.
* To be responsible for the proper care and operation of any plant, tools or machinery used within the workplace.
* Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety procedures.
* Adhere to all necessary policies and procedures of Wickham Freight Lines
Skills & Experience:
* Ability to carry out fabricating tasks with minimal supervision.
* Proven ability to meet deadlines and to make independent decisions.
* Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
* Proven ability to work within a team environment.
* Possess a driver's licence. HR or HC desirable.
* Preferred certified Tradesperson, Heavy Vehicle Road Transport Certificate III qualifications and experience.
