About the Role
We are seeking a high‑performing State Manager – South Australia to lead and grow our SA operations within the waste and resource recovery sector. This is a senior leadership role with full P&L responsibility, requiring a commercially astute leader who can drive sustainable financial performance, operational excellence, and team capability.
You will have end‑to‑end accountability for safety, people, customers, and profitability across the state.
Key Responsibilities
* Full P&L ownership for the South Australian business, including revenue, margin, cost control, and EBIT delivery
* Develop and execute state business plans aligned to national strategy
* Drive operational efficiency across collection, processing, and disposal activities
* Lead, coach, and develop a multi‑disciplinary leadership team
* Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, councils, contractors, and regulators
* Identify and execute growth opportunities, including new contracts, renewals, and service expansion
* Provide accurate forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis to senior leadership
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Proven experience as a State Manager, Regional Manager, or Senior Operations Manager
* Demonstrated success managing a complex P&L in a capital‑intensive, operational environment
* Background in waste management, resource recovery, recycling, logistics, utilities, or heavy industry
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate strategy into tangible results
* Experience leading large, decentralised teams in safety‑critical environments
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* A hands‑on, accountable leadership style with a strong focus on performance and outcomes
