The Service Manager Home and Yard Maintenance is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, sustainability and governance of the Home and Yard Maintenance services.
The role provides strategic and operational oversight to ensure services are safe, compliant, financially viable and responsive to client and community needs across funded and private service streams. This includes accountability for service delivery models, workforce capability, financial performance, contractual obligations, risk management and continuous improvement.
The position plays a critical role in stabilising service delivery, improving output performance, strengthening safety and governance, and positioning the Home and Yard Maintenance services for long-term sustainability within the Support at Home environment.
Furthermore, the role operates in accordance with the Home & Yard Maintenance Service Delivery Model and ensures services are scheduled, delivered and verified in a manner that prioritises client safety, workforce sustainability, industrial compliance and financial integrity.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
* Providing overall leadership and accountability for Home and Yard Maintenance services
* Ensuring services meet contractual, regulatory, financial and quality requirements
* Leading and embedding an effective Service Delivery Model across all service streams
* Overseeing workforce capability, structure and performance through subordinate leaders
* Managing service performance, safety, risk and financial sustainability
* Driving continuous improvement, service viability and strategic alignment
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant tertiary qualification in community services, business, management or a related discipline, or equivalent substantial experience
* Demonstrated experience managing complex operational services with safety, workforce and financial accountability
* Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams through subordinate leaders
* Demonstrated experience managing service performance against KPIs, budgets and contractual requirements
* Sound knowledge and understanding of WHS obligations within operational or high-risk service environments
* Experience within aged care, community services or government-funded service environments
* Experience leading service redesign, recovery or improvement initiatives
* Experience managing contractor-heavy or mixed workforce service models
Core Competencies
* Substantial level of strategic and operational leadership capability, with the ability to translate organisational strategy into effective service delivery
* Substantial commercial and financial acumen, including budget management, performance monitoring and service sustainability
* High level of governance, risk and compliance capability, including WHS, quality and contractual obligations
* High level of analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex service environments
* Ability to lead, coach and hold leaders accountable for performance and outcomes
* High level of stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including engagement with executives, staff, clients and partners
The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
