Bendigo Health is excited to offer RACP-accredited Geriatric Medicine Advanced Trainee (AT) registrar positions for 2026–2027. This program provides a dynamic and supportive learning environment for trainees seeking to develop expertise in geriatric medicine across a variety of clinical settings.
Registrars will rotate through a range of terms, including the Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Unit, Orthogeriatrics and Surgical Liaison, Acute Geriatric Medicine (incorporating Psychiatry and General Medicine consults), Geriatric Medicine in the Emergency Department, and Community Geriatric Medicine ( ). Term allocations are tailored to each registrar’s individual training needs while balancing organisational requirements.
Trainees will actively participate in weekly geriatric clinics, which may include General Geriatric Medicine, CDAMS, Telehealth services, Falls and Balance, Continence, or the Movement Disorder Clinic. Registrars are expected to supervise and support junior medical staff, fostering both teaching and leadership skills.
The program encourages ongoing professional development through participation in fortnightly Victorian Geriatric Medicine Training Program sessions, Northern Alliance in-house training activities, and Bendigo Health’s registrar training initiatives. A new three-year pathway is also available, offering 1–2 years at Bendigo Health in combination with a year at Austin Health.
