Position Summary
The Dairy Farm Operator is responsible for the effective execution of day-to-day dairy farming operations. This role requires a high level of technical competence in livestock management, milking systems, pasture and feed management, machinery operation, and compliance with regulatory and biosecurity standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Perform and oversee daily milking operations in accordance with dairy hygiene and quality standards.
* Monitor livestock health and arrange treatment or veterinary intervention as required.
* Operate and maintain milking equipment and farm machinery.
* Implement feeding programs, pasture rotation, and fodder management.
* Support breeding, calving, and herd replacement programs.
* Maintain accurate production, animal health, and treatment records.
* Ensure compliance with animal welfare, biosecurity, and WHS regulations.
* Maintain cleanliness of dairy sheds, yards, and farm facilities.
* Assist with seasonal planning and operational scheduling.
* Supervise contractors or support staff when required.
* Promote sustainable and environmentally responsible farming practices.
Qualifications and Experience
* AQF Certificate II or III in Agriculture (Dairy Production) or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 1–2 years' experience in dairy farming or livestock operations.
* Proven competency in milking systems and agricultural machinery.
* Sound knowledge of animal welfare and dairy hygiene standards.

* Physically capable of outdoor and manual work.
Additional Requirements
* Q Fever vaccination (mandatory or willingness to obtain).

* Availability for early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
