About the RoleAs a Technical Business Analyst (aka Systems Engineer) you will work within the Product Management Team in identifying, defining and driving Fivecast products and features through a complete lifecycle from inception to support. You will work with all areas of the Fivecast business, including Product Development, Engineering, Intelligence, Marketing and Sales to help execute the Product Roadmap.
The Technical Business Analyst will:
* Elicit requirements from a range of stakeholders including customers, product managers, competitive specialists, subject matter experts, UX designers, and engineering team members, and communicate these requirements effectively to the development team.
* Collaborate with Engineering Managers and developers to define solutions that address identified requirements, balancing user needs with technical feasibility.
* Conduct analysis to support the development of solutions, including data mapping, functional gap analysis, evaluations of external APIs.
* Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and pricing by evaluating solutions, negotiating terms, and overseeing renewals and compliance.
* Develop a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and customer challenges.
* Work across all areas of the Fivecast business to support execution of the Product Roadmap. Including Product Development, Engineering, Data Science, Intelligence, Marketing, and Sales.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on consumer-facing web applications/products and be capable of driving the creation of such applications from the ground up. They will possess a strong understanding of market dynamics and user needs, with the technical insight to translate these into effective product solutions
Requirements
Defence Clearance: Eligibility for NV1 defence clearance (requires Australian citizenship AND ten years of residency)
Tertiary Qualifications: University Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related technical STEM fields.
Skills & Experience
* 5+ years experience in Technical Business Analysis / Systems Engineering/ Product Ownership
* Ability to develop product specifications and meet deadlines
* Strong organisation skills, detail orientated, and a collaborative team player with strong communication skills
Experience within:
* Consumer facing, complicated web-apps or products
* Trade studies of technology providers
* Identifying integration and API requirements
* Market and competitive analysis
* Vendor selection and management
* License terms and contract negotiation
* Development of licensing models for cloud software
Extra qualities that make strong candidates:
* Experience in technology sector working with defence and government clients
* Understanding of analytic challenges in Defence and national security
