How will you contribute?
The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.
· Establish plant and process to produce materials required for R&D and launch activities, such as, Energetics, Polymers and Ablative Materials whilst adhering to safety legislation and local regulation.
· Manage and optimise cleaning processes of hardware and equipment for use with energetics.
· Experiment with and create solid rocket motors
· Maintain proper documentation of all designs, drawings and test plans
· Work on research and development on a small number of solid rocket motor ingredients
· Work with a group of cross discipline engineers on other non-fuel components of the motors
· Conduct and review solid rocket motor engine tests and produce test reports.
· Support external suppliers, where required, to improve quality and supply assurances.
· Working with design and manufacturing engineers to develop and optimise production processes.
· Ongoing technical support of plant and process.
· Any other duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience
· Bachelor's (B.S.) degree in Chemistry, Process or Chemical Engineering
· Experience with polymers
· Working experience in a processing facility, ideally handling dangerous goods and/or energetics
· Working experience with relevant Australian Standards (AS4326, AS2187)
· Ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance
Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience
· Experience working with, and formulating, energetic materials
· Experience with CAD and an understanding of mechanical design
· Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ)
· Ability to rapidly change goals while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
