Details: VisitCanberra leads the ACT and capital region tourism industry to create and implement a range of marketing and partnership programs that aim to grow the value of tourism to the ACT economy.
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Events and Famils Officer to join our passionate team. If you're a natural collaborator with strong project and event management skills and thrive maintaining momentum and focus across a variety of tasks, we'd love to hear from you
Working closely within a small and dedicated team, you'll play a key role in bringing energy and creativity to VisitCanberra's mission to promote the capital as a compelling tourism destination. In this role, you'll lead our participation in a variety of tourism trade events across Australia and beyond, coordinate and deliver engaging tourism familiarisation programs throughout the year and provide essential administrative support to the team. You'll also contribute to broader team projects, making a meaningful impact across various programs.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Partnerships and Distribution, you'll be at the heart of VisitCanberra's trade event management and famil programs, playing a key role in connecting with industry partners and showcasing the very best of Canberra.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
* Knowledge of the tourism industry is desirable
* Current Australian driver's licence
* Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
This position is within a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT.
