Job Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Administrative Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-level support to the Director, manage key administrative tasks, and contribute to cultural and community events.
This is a part-time position fixed term for 12 months at the University of Newcastle's Callaghan Campus. We offer a range of benefits including flexible working arrangements, 17% superannuation, and additional university holiday days.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-level support to the Director, including managing their calendar, coordinating meetings, making travel bookings, processing credit card reconciliations, and preparing correspondence.
* Manage key administrative tasks such as maintaining records, monitoring and responding to emails, ordering supplies, and preparing agendas and minutes for meetings.
* Support cultural and community events and help coordinate internal and external stakeholder engagements.
* Foster a culturally safe and inclusive working environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. Completion of an associate diploma level qualification with relevant work-related experience, or a certificate level qualification with post-certificate relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
2. Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to participate in a team environment demonstrating clear communication and mutual respect.
3. Demonstrated administrative skills and related systems experience.
4. Organisational and time management skills to manage priorities, deliver work objectives accurately and on time, and manage competing demands from a range of stakeholders.
