Job Description:
* The Governance Support role is a vital position within our organization, responsible for managing information access requests and providing high-level customer service.
* As a Governance Support Officer, you will be the primary point of contact for customers seeking access to information under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act).
* Key responsibilities include processing applications efficiently, advising staff and the public on GIPA and governance matters, preparing administrative correspondence, and participating in committee meetings.
* In this dynamic environment, you will work closely with colleagues to deliver exceptional results, maintain accurate records, and provide expert advice on governance processes.
* Requirements for the role include relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in business administration, government, law, or related fields, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in business administration, government, law, or related fields;
* Minimum 2 years' relevant experience;
* Experience applying records management principles in a busy office environment;
* Excellent written communication skills;
* Strong analytical skills to interpret legislation and resolve complex inquiries;
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; and
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
