Join this major NSW Health brand in maintaining the deliverables in the recoveries team on a 6 month contract period, ending in June ****
Provide strategic and operational return to work and recovery services that support the achievement of objectives, including policies, procedures and programs to improve and maintain outcomes and create measurable performance improvements.
The Role
Supervise the team of 8 staff who directly liaise with injured workers, managers and case managers to ensure they are successfully implementing recover at work strategies on all open workers compensation claims.
Regularly promote and communicate on recover at work related matters and assist managers in meeting their legislative obligations.
Provide specialised recover at work advice, facilitate training education sessions including the overall strategic plan and management for managing work related injuries with the aim to reduce workers compensation costs.
Ensure claims are being managed appropriately in accordance with legislation and the Service Level Agreement to ensure compliance with legislation and maintenance of best practice management of injured workers.
Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation and ensure workers are afforded best practice recover at work provisions.
About you
Relevant tertiary qualifications (preferably Allied Health) and / or significant experience in injury management and rehabilitation.
Demonstrated experience leading a team of rehabilitation and return at work professionals with a recovery at work focus in a large, diverse and complex organisation.
Strong working knowledge of current legislation.
Demonstrated experience in identification, development and delivery of innovative and best practice programs to improve performance and outcomes in RTW.
Demonstrated experience in managing a psychological claims portfolio.
Experience in effective planning, organising and problem solving skills; proven ability to interpret and apply Acts, Regulations and Awards.
Well-developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, and demonstrated ability to successfully build relationships.
Demonstrated people management skills, including the ability to supervise and motivate staff in a high volume work environment and the ability to deliver multiple outcomes within tight timeframes where attention to detail is essential.
