Job Description
As the State Sales Manager at Stan, your primary impact will be to drive the growth of our subscriber base predominantly within licensed premises (Pubs & Clubs) but also other commercial sectors where the opportunity arises (Mining, Aged Care, etc.). You will play a crucial role in expanding our presence in the commercial arena, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, and increasing subscribers and revenue.
With this role aimed squarely at growing our business in the B2B industry, the successful candidate will use an entrepreneurial approach to combine their love of sport and entertainment with an ability to understand the needs of our current and potential future partners in that space.
Your Responsibilities
* Ownership and achievement of commercial sales targets
* Develop the key account subscriber base, meeting both revenue growth and margin targets
* Actively manage set portfolio and deliver quality customer experiences
* Identify and develop new business opportunities to drive new sales
* Identify, develop and deploy business retention strategies to minimise churn and ensure a high level of customer service to existing clients
* Understand the client's objectives, buying criteria and decision‐making processes, and form long‐term business partnerships to leverage revenue and promote the company as a premium supplier with the aim of achieving "preferred" supplier status
* Identify and gain new business through a sustained program of cold calling, mailing and following up referrals/leads while staying abreast of competitors' sales strategies
* Deliver quality analysis and reporting
* Develop and present customised business proposals
* Effectively manage key accounts to maximise revenue and margin growth
* Build and maintain internal relationships
* Implement industry‐specific sales and marketing strategies
* Commit to self‐improvement
* Understand and respond to industry trends
* Display high levels of personal energy and commitment to the role, team and the business
* Comply with all Stan's Policies and Procedures, as amended from time to time
* Contribute to a safe, healthy and secure working environment, free from harassment, bullying and discrimination
* All other duties as requested by the Commercial Director
Your Experience & Capability
* Minimum 5 years of account or sales experience in a medium to large sales operation
* Ideally tertiary qualifications in a business or marketing‐related area
* Ability to quickly understand the business needs, products and services in a medium to large national organisation
* Proven track record of success in business development and sales, preferably in sports or hospitality B2B environments—experience selling to pubs & clubs is highly sought after
* Strong understanding of the licensed venue market, its dynamics, and the factors influencing decision‐making in this space
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at various levels
* Results‐driven with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets
* Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions and identify growth opportunities
* Outstanding customer‐relationship‐management skills – well connected and respected by customers and the industry
* A strategic thinker and sound business acumen, delivering effective development and presentation of business proposals to senior levels
* Energetic, self‐motivated, enthusiastic and committed to others
* Ability to work to specific timeframes and achieve sales and cost targets in a highly competitive and changing environment
* Self‐starter who is highly motivated and enjoys meeting challenging goals
* Adaptive to change and able to work well under stress and within tight deadlines
