**The Opportunity**
This is **Full time, Permanent job opportunity **to build a career as **Service Technician** based out of our office at **West Melbourne, VIC**. The Service Technician is responsible in assisting the Senior Service Technician for the performance of routine preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, vehicle recovery, on-call support, and training of the Operator's maintenance personnel. This role will also to assist in the revision of manuals, systems, standards, maintenance regimes and technical solutions to improve the performance and reliability of the vehicles and supporting Product Introduction onsite with commissioning of newly delivered vehicles.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in the development of data collection processes and procedures relating to vehicle condition, performance, reliability etc.
- Assist in the continuous review of maintenance regime to optimise workflow, and reduce maintenance costs while satisfying safety requirements and risk
- Assist in the ongoing assessment and analysis of vehicle condition to ensure that the systems and appropriate actions are in place to maintain contractual compliance
- Shift work may be required on a rotation or permanent bases as the business requirements of our customer are implemented

**Key Requirements**
- Relevant trade certificate or tertiary qualified engineer (preferably mechatronics, electrical, or electronics discipline) or previous experience as service technician in vehicle maintenance, modifications, and reliability growth management desirable
- Relevant experience required (i.e. directly linked to the requirements of the position/role)
- 3 to 5 years' experience in a Rolling Stock Fleet Operational environment preferred
- Computer Literate in MS Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Access)
- Able to use IT systems i.e. Maximo for data recording and management
- Previous experience in vehicle maintenance work
- A strong level of fault finding and troubleshooting experience in structural, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Some experience and understanding of the interface between electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment on rail vehicles
