Brisbane Airport Hotels Group is currently seeking a Full-time/Part-Time Maintenance Handyperson to join our team
About the role:
* Assist the Maintenance team in the day-to-day maintenance requirements of the hotels & conference centre.
* Complete daily rounds and note for repair any equipment that may appear or sound faulty.
* Carry out maintenance on mechanical equipment and water reticulation to ensure acceptable availability and reliability.
* Ensure all equipment is used, stored and maintained correctly.
* Assist in keeping up-to-date records on the repair and maintenance of plant & equipment.
* On completion of daily rounds, sign off on any relevant section of maintenance manuals.
* Liaise with the supervisor/manager/contractor regarding all work in guest rooms and public areas to ensure out-of-order areas of the hotel are brought back into use as soon as possible.
* Report on the completion, or delay, of any task that is guest-related.
* The recording of all maintenance tasks performed, complete and incomplete, including any necessary reports about repairs and preventative schedules.
* Ensure the external areas of the hotel are tidy and maintained.
* Maintain gym equipment in safe working order according to the manufacturer's specifications.
* Carry out preventative and repair painting where required throughout the Hotel.
Physical Tasks
* Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stopping
* Move up and down a ladder.
* Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
* Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 Kilograms without assistance
* Gardening duties, hedge trimming overhead bushes, removal of fallen trees, digging out garden beds
* Ability to work in relatively small spaces, when checking kitchen equipment, under benches or machines
About You:
* Ability to multitask and work within tight timeframes
* Flexibility to work AM/PM shifts
* Previous maintenance experience is advantageous
* High standard of DIY skills
* Pride in personal appearance - this position requires liaising with guests, contractors, owners and management.
* Ability to safely carry out the physical tasks listed above
