About The Role
Reporting to the Client Services Manager at Certis, you will be the site-based operational owner of Powerlink's 24/7 Security Operations Centre.
You Will Be Accountable For
Operational performance and resilience of the SOC
Contract compliance and audit readiness
Statewide incident coordination and escalation
Leadership of a specialist SOC workforce
Maintaining client confidence through disciplined, intelligence-led operations
You will act as the primary day-to-day operational interface with Powerlink Protective Security, emergency services and internal Certis teams, providing calm authority and sound judgement during critical security and emergency events.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading a 24/7 SOC supporting critical infrastructure across Queensland
Providing senior leadership during complex security incidents and emergencies
Coordinating with emergency services, law enforcement and internal response teams
Ensuring operational readiness, workforce capability and system integrity
Driving continuous improvement, lessons learned and operational uplift
Maintaining cost discipline, scope integrity and service sustainability
Building and leading a high-performing, professional SOC team
This is a role where operational decisions matter, and where leadership, judgement and credibility are essential.
What We're Looking For
You are likely to come from energy, utilities, transport, defence, policing, emergency management, or a mature SOC / ECC environment, and bring:
Proven experience leading security operations in a regulated, high-risk or critical-infrastructure
Strong capability in incident management, escalation and real-time decision-making
Experience overseeing integrated security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms, incident platforms)
Confidence operating with senior stakeholders and emergency services
A leadership style that is calm, disciplined and decisive under pressure
Mandatory Requirements Include
Queensland Security Licence (Monitoring & Unarmed)
Queensland Security Advisor Licence
Ability to obtain or hold AGSVA Baseline clearance
Senior First Aid & CPR
