About The Role
An opportunity exists for a qualified individual to join our Health, Safety and Environment Team as an Environmental Advisor. This role involves monitoring and managing site environmental issues, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting the business in maintaining license to operate.
This position suits someone who prefers autonomous and outdoor work to develop technical knowledge further.
Core Responsibilities
1. Lead site environmental monitoring programs to ensure compliance with permits, licenses, and statutory requirements.
2. Identify, report, and manage environmental risks, incidents, and exceedances; assist in investigations and corrective actions.
3. Conduct field sampling of surface water, groundwater, and other media using industry-standard techniques.
4. Analyze environmental data, interpret results, and prepare technical reports for regulatory and internal use.
5. Provide technical advice on water quality, erosion, sediment control, and site rehabilitation.
6. Support closure planning activities through investigations, inspections, and data collection.
7. Supervise and coordinate environmental contractors and consultants.
8. Drive initiatives for continuous environmental performance improvement.
About You
You should have a strong foundation in environmental science and experience in mining, heavy industry, or similar environments.
You Will Bring
* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Hydrogeology, or related fields.
* Experience in water management, including monitoring programs.
* Knowledge of Acid and Metalliferous Drainage (advantageous).
* Strong fieldwork skills, physical fitness for remote environments.
* Attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to prepare reports.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills.
* Team-oriented attitude with positive work environment values.
* Current driver’s license; 4WD experience preferred.
* Commitment to safety and environmental culture.
