Job Title: Senior Environmental Planning Specialist
ERM is a global sustainability consulting firm seeking an experienced environmental planning specialist to lead our approvals and planning team.
* This role requires a high degree of technical competence in environmental planning, due diligence, land use planning and impact assessment best practices.
We are looking for a senior professional with 15+ years of experience in environmental planning and approvals. You will be responsible for leading and managing projects, building sustaining relationships with major clients and driving outcomes that create tangible value for our clients.
The ideal candidate will have a track record in delivering multimillion dollar sales results annually and a deep understanding of project approvals challenges and existing relationships that can be leveraged into new business.
About the Role
* Lead and manage an approvals and planning team to secure major project approvals for clients in the renewable (wind farms, solar, hydrogen etc), mining, infrastructure and industrial space.
* Lead environmental assessment projects and related approvals management in support of ERM clients' capital project delivery.
* Build, grow, and manage a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants.
* Support the growth and development of ERM's Capital Project Delivery service area and actively collaborate with colleagues across the nation and globe.
* Drive innovation within the technical community to stay ahead of client needs and differentiate ERM in the market.
* Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build ERM's business.
* Meet business financial targets, project budget and schedule, client satisfaction, and internal and contract requirements.
* Partner with Account Directors to develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities.
* Provide business value selling at the top levels of client organisations.
* Develop new client relationships and expand existing ones.
* Maintain pulse on industry business cycles and prioritise sales efforts to high-potential opportunities.
* Manage capture efforts utilising technical understanding to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, contracting.
Requirements
* Relevant tertiary qualifications.
* 15+ years of environmental planning and approvals experience.
* High degree of technical competence in environmental planning and approvals, due diligence, land use planning and impact assessment best practices.
* Solid experience building sustaining relationships with major clients.
* Authorisation to work in Australia.
* In-depth understanding of project approvals challenges and existing relationships that can be leveraged into new business.
* Business acumen to understand business risk and opportunities.
* Track record in delivering multimillion dollar sales results annually.
