Staffing, HR & Finance Officer

The School of Excellence is seeking an experienced professional to support the effective operations of its business, human resources, and administrative functions.


Job Description:

This key role plays a crucial part in the school's success, working closely with the Business Manager to provide leadership to the administration team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff leave applications, maintaining accurate personnel records, administering the recruitment process, ensuring compliance with Department of Education human resources procedures, policies, and employment legislation.


Key Responsibilities:

* Manage staff leave applications and maintain accurate personnel records.
* Administer all aspects of the staff recruitment process, including advertising vacancies, coordinating interviews, and preparing employment contracts.
* Ensure compliance with Department of Education human resources procedures, policies, and employment legislation.
* Assist/Suport with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
* Prepare and complete monthly bank reconciliations and end-of-period financial processes.
* Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and compile all financial reports for presentation to the Finance Committee and School Council each month.
* Provide support and assistance to the Business Manager with financial and administrative operations.


Requirements:

* Demonstrated high-level administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a busy school environment.
* Sound knowledge and experience in financial administration, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation, BAS preparation, and reporting processes, with the ability to interpret and apply Department of Education financial policies and procedures.
* Demonstrated experience in human resources administration, including recruitment, staff records management, and leave processing, with a strong understanding of confidentiality and compliance requirements.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with staff, leadership, and external stakeholders, and to provide clear guidance and support within a team environment.
