About This Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated, talented and driven Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Fellow to join the team of researchers in the Centre for Neurorehabilitation, Ageing and Balance Research.
This opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow focuses on contributing to a number of studies with the overarching goal of improving the measurement of, and intervention to improve movement and physical activity in older adults, people with Parkinson’s disease and stroke. In this role, you will oversee participant recruitment, and data collection and analysis to understand function and movement in populations including older adults, people with Parkinson’s disease and stroke. You’ll support the management of several current projects, contribute to publications with established data sets, and contribute to new project development. You’ll also be involved with consumers, such as people with Parkinson’s disease, in co-design, qualitative research and the research translation phase of completed projects.
In return, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to collaborate and work with researchers across multiple disciplines (e.g. physiotherapy, biomedical engineering), other post-doctoral fellows and research students (e.g. PhD, honours) to develop their expertise and emerging research profile related to improving function and physical activity in rehabilitation populations by incorporating the use of technology.
We are specifically looking for passionate researchers who have experience in:
* running and self-managing experiments in human/patient populations,
* using project specific equipment (e.g. wearables, motion capture, gait mats),
* performing basic data processing and analysis, and
* co-design, qualitative research and/or research translation.
This research-focused opportunity is being offered at Academic Level A or B commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills and experience.
