About the role
We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team at IL MATTO TORQUAY, a renowned restaurant in Torquay, Victoria. As a full time Cook, you will be an integral part of our kitchen operations.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and cooking a variety of menu items to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Maintaining a clean and organised workstation and adhering to all food safety and hygiene protocols
- Collaborating with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and refine existing recipes
- Providing excellent customer service by ensuring timely and efficient delivery of meals
- Participating in inventory management and ordering of kitchen supplies
- Assisting in the training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff
What we/'re looking for
- Proven experience as a Cook or Chef in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Strong technical skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic kitchen environment
- A passion for creating delicious, visually appealing dishes
