Eastwell Contracting & Mechanical Services is hiring! We are looking for a qualified and experienced Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanical Repairer.
Responsibilities
* Run electronic, hydraulic and mechanical diagnostic tests and analyse results
* Repair and replace worn/defective parts
* Reassemble engine, steering, transmission, hydraulic, electrical and braking system components
* Perform preventative maintenance and carry out scheduled services
* Test‐drive vehicles to gauge performance
* Record details of work carried out and all parts, oils etc. utilised in each job
* Adhere to inspection procedure checklists
* Demonstrate basic welding skills & experience with the use of oxy‐acetylene cutting
* Extensive knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques, tools and diagnostic equipment
* Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams and schematics
* Ensure workspace cleanliness and comply with workplace safety (including wearing PPE where required) and environmental regulations
* Comply with all Employer HSE policies and procedures and report all hazards, accidents, incidents and near‐misses according to the Accident/Incident Reporting process
* Develop and follow all safe work procedures as directed by the supervisor or as otherwise directed
Qualifications and Requirements
Trade qualifications as a diesel mechanic (desirable), MC/HR licence holder – (desirable). Strong ability to document and record the service and maintenance carried out. Good communication skills & ability to talk to customers regarding work completed on their vehicles, when required. Have a solid understanding of all fault reports, maintenance and inspections. Proficient in using various hand and power tools for installation and repair work.
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per annum
