Head of Corporate Affairs, Reputation & Engagement

The best Corporate Affairs jobs aren't about managing a reputation. They're about earning one.

At Strait Link, that happens every day. On ships crossing Bass Strait. In terminals moving freight. On the road. In conversations with customers. In communities where we live and work. And increasingly, online. Through social channels, digital platforms and executive voices, we're telling our story to more people than ever before. We want someone who can help take that to the next level.

As Tasmania's largest freight and logistics provider, we connect an island state to the rest of Australia through an integrated network of shipping, terminals and logistics operations. It's a responsibility we take seriously. Because when critical supply chains work, most people never notice. When they don't, everyone does. Every day, customers trust us to connect Tasmania to mainland Australia. Communities trust us to operate responsibly. Governments trust us to be a reliable infrastructure partner.

This role is about earning and strengthening that trust. That's why relationships matter. That's why reputation matters. And that's why we're looking for an exceptional Head of Corporate Affairs, Reputation & Engagement.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Executive General Manager – HR & Communications, you'll lead Strait Link's Corporate Affairs, Reputation & Engagement function. This isn't a traditional Corporate Affairs role.

You'll move between government meetings, customer engagements, sponsorship activations, executive communications, social media strategy, community events and industry forums.

Some days you'll be helping leaders navigate complex issues. Other days you'll be launching a campaign, building a partnership, developing a digital content strategy or capturing a story from the wharf that deserves to be told.

You'll help shape how Strait Link is seen by customers, governments, communities, employees, industry partners and future talent. You'll help strengthen our reputation, build our social licence to operate and grow the profile of a business that plays a critical role in Tasmania and Australia's economy.

Most importantly, you'll help ensure Strait Link continues to be recognised as a trusted customer partner, valued community contributor and responsible infrastructure operator.

What You'll Be Responsible For

As Head of Corporate Affairs, Reputation & Engagement, you'll lead the way Strait Link engages with customers, communities, governments, industry stakeholders and employees.

You'll be responsible for protecting and strengthening Strait Link's reputation and social licence to operate, while building meaningful relationships that support long-term business success.

This broad portfolio includes:

* Leading customer, stakeholder and government engagement activities that strengthen trust, influence and advocacy.
* Driving Strait Link's reputation, media, issues management and executive communications programs.
* Developing and delivering marketing, brand, sponsorship, community investment and engagement initiatives.
* Leading corporate events, industry forums and stakeholder engagement activities that strengthen relationships and showcase the Strait Link brand.
* Overseeing Strait Link's digital, social media and content strategy, including executive profiling, thought leadership and audience engagement.
* Championing creative storytelling, graphic design, visual communication and content development across all channels.
* Identifying opportunities to leverage digital tools, data, analytics and emerging technologies, including AI, to improve communication effectiveness and audience engagement.
* Supporting internal communication and employee engagement initiatives that connect people to Strait Link's strategy, purpose and priorities.

About You

You're not just a communications professional. You're a relationship builder, storyteller, strategist and creator. You understand that reputation is earned through actions, not slogans.

You combine strategic thinking with creativity and are equally comfortable engaging with customers, advising executives, building stakeholder relationships, leading community initiatives, shaping digital campaigns or managing complex issues.

You know how to influence outcomes. You know how to bring people together. And you know how to tell stories that matter.

You'll bring:

* Significant experience in Corporate Affairs, Communications, Public Affairs, Stakeholder Engagement or related leadership roles.
* Demonstrated success building organisational reputation, customer trust and social licence to operate.
* Strong customer, stakeholder and government relations capability.
* Experience leading sponsorships, partnerships, community engagement programs and events.
* Strong marketing, brand, digital and social media capability.
* An appreciation for great design, storytelling, visual communication and content creation.
* Experience using data, analytics and emerging technologies, including AI, to improve communication and engagement outcomes.
* Exceptional communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
* Sound judgement, resilience and the ability to navigate complexity.
* Experience advising executive leaders and influencing strategic outcomes.
* Experience within transport, logistics, infrastructure, aviation, maritime, utilities or similarly complex industries will be highly regarded.

Because opportunities like this don't come around often. This is a chance to shape the reputation of a business that keeps Tasmania connected. To strengthen customer trust. To build community partnerships. To influence important conversations. To create memorable experiences. To grow digital audiences. To help leaders find their voice. And to tell stories worth telling.

If you're looking for a role where influence, creativity, relationships, digital engagement, and impact come together, we'd love to hear from you.

Thank you for considering a career with Strait Link. We appreciate the interest shown in this opportunity and the time taken to apply. While we review every application carefully, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
