The Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our team. This is a full-time position working in a fast-paced workshop environment, supporting a wide variety of vehicle servicing and repair work.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults across a range of vehicles using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment
* Inspect vehicle systems and identify faults in engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and related components
* Carry out repairs and replace worn or defective parts, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer and safety standards
* Dismantle and reassemble engines and mechanical systems as required during repair processes
* Perform routine servicing including oil changes, lubrication, and general maintenance to ensure optimal vehicle performance
* Test and adjust repaired components to confirm functionality and reliability before handover
* Utilise computer-based diagnostic systems to assess faults and support repair decisions
* Conduct vehicle inspections and provide recommendations to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
* Maintain accurate service records, including details of work performed and parts used
* Support workshop operations by maintaining a clean and safe work environment and adhering to workplace health and safety procedures
* Assist with urgent repairs or breakdown situations where required
Skills and Experience
* Relevant trade qualification such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis
* At least 1-2 years of relevant industry experience
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
* Experience working across a range of vehicle types, including modern and older models
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
