WA Seabird Rescue Inc is a volunteer-run organisation that rescues and cares for sick or injured seabirds in Western Australia.We have a committee opening for an experienced treasurer commencing in two weeks. We are looking for someone with bookkeeping experience who is familiar with GST reporting for NFP groups and can use accounting software such as Xero.
As our treasurer, the primary responsibilities will be: maintaining the books and documents of the association - in accordance with the Associations Act: making payments to debtors and reimbursing volunteer expenses; having the security of all the Associations financial books and documents; ensuring all accounts payable are accounted for and banked promptly; reporting GST quarterly; presenting financial reports to monthly committee meetings including the AGM. While you do not need any experience with wildlife rehabilitation, we would expect that you have an interest or desire to learn more about it. To express your interest, please upload a cover letter to let us know why you are interested in the position and your experience in this area.
