Job Description Summary
As an IT Senior Network Engineer you will be responsible for the strategic design, implementation and support of Service Stream's national IT network infrastructure.
You'll ensure high availability, performance and security across all sites while maintaining strong vendor relationships and driving continuous improvement.
This role serves as a key escalation point for complex network issues and contributes to the broader IT strategy and roadmap.
You will join a high-performing welcoming team based at our modern Docklands Head Office (minimum 3 days on site per week) which offers a vibrant environment featuring a balcony BBQ area, collaborative and quiet spaces and plenty of natural light.
About the Role
Lead the design and implementation of advanced network solutions (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Cloud Security) aligned with business objectives and future scalability.
Oversee major network projects and initiatives ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
Mentor junior engineers and facilitate knowledge transfer across Technology teams.
Maintain and optimize network infrastructure for high availability and performance.
Monitor and analyse network services proactively, resolving issues.
Develop and enforce network security standards; ensure compliance with ITIL change management and HSE legislation.
Manage vendor relationships and represent IT Operations in cross-functional projects.
Evaluate emerging technologies and drive innovation in network operations.
Maintain accurate documentation of network infrastructure and processes.
Collaborate with business units and IT leadership to support strategic initiatives.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide effective incident response.
Skills and experience
Must have Australian Citizenship.
Willingness to occasionally work outside standard business hours as required.
5 years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
Experience in large-scale multi-site network environments.
Expertise in network security, cloud networking (AWS / Azure) and automation (e.g. scripting SDN).
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP network models and tools like Wireshark, Nmap, Cisco DNA vManage.
Hands-on experience with LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VOIP, VPN, CASB (ZScaler), Radius and AWS networks.
Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science or related field (Master's preferred).
Certifications such as Cisco CCNP / CCIE, AWS Advanced Networking, Palo Alto PCNSE.
