Executive Opportunity – Chief Executive Officer We are partnering with Teachers Savings and Loan Society Limited (TISA Bank) to identify an accomplished Chief Executive Officer to lead the Bank through its next phase of growth and transformation. About TISA Bank: TISA Bank is Papua New Guinea’s first homegrown commercial bank, built on a 50 year legacy of the Teachers Savings and Loan Society. The Bank was granted their commercial banking licence in August 2024 and provides innovative and secure banking solutions across Personal, SME, Corporate, Agency and Digital Banking, supporting individuals, families, start-ups, small businesses, and large corporates. The Role: Reporting to the TISA Bank Board of Directors and the Group CEO, the incumbent will lead TISA Bank through its next phase of growth, setting and executing the Bank’s strategic direction while ensuring financial strength, regulatory compliance, and sustainable long-term performance. This high-profile role carries full accountability for the Bank’s overall performance, risk management, governance, and stakeholder engagement. You will lead a high-performing executive team, foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation, and act as the Bank’s principal representative with regulators, government, shareholders, and other key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Steer the Bank’s Strategic Direction – Develop long-term strategies with the Group CEO and Board, and oversee operational, financial, and risk management functions. Drive Operational Excellence – Implement the Bank’s annual operational plan and budget, optimise cost-to-income ratios, and improve financial performance metrics Cultivate a High-Performing Culture – Foster an innovative, customer-focused environment that empowers employees and drives exceptional service About You: The successful candidate will be a proven executive leader with: CEO or senior executive experience within a regulated financial institution Deep experience across Retail, SME, and Corporate banking, including digital and agency channels Strong track record of delivering financial and operational performance, including profitability, efficiency, and balance sheet growth Demonstrated capability in risk management, regulatory compliance, and governance Experience in emerging or frontier markets; Papua New Guinea or similar environments highly regarded Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including with regulators and government Ability to lead organisational transformation and inspire high-performing teams Degree or postgraduate qualifications in Banking, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline Strong communication, negotiation, people management, interpersonal and influencing skills to build strong business relationships and drive a culture of collaboration and innovation Ability to satisfy the Fit and Proper requirements as set out under the Bank and Financial Institutions Act This is a unique leadership opportunity to shape the future of a growing, locally-owned bank, expand access to banking solutions across PNG, and make a lasting impact on the wider financial sector.
