The Role
The Billing Officer will provide billing, WIP management and general finance support, and also support a range of finance‐related tasks as required by the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist Business Units with monthly billing.
* Review WIP and identify billing opportunities. If WIP is not billable, initiate WIP write‐off protocols.
* Review open matters with a view to close any that have been completed.
* Maintain bill rates, work codes, and matter types.
* Respond to all internal and external enquiries regarding finance in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
* Must have professional services billing experience.
* Prior experience working in a law firm is desirable.
* Intermediate to advanced experience using Affinity and Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is desirable.
* Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to liaise with people at all levels within the firm, with excellent relationship‐building skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to develop effective working partnerships with key stakeholders.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Innovative and able to propose best practice alternatives.
