At Raise My House, we have pioneered and continue to lead the house raising and restumping industry in South East Queensland. With over 15 years of experience, we now raise more than 180 houses each year and employ 50+ staff.We firmly believe that safety is built into how jobs are planned and delivered.
Due to continued growth, we are now looking for a Safety Officer to keep site standards tight and our employees even safer.
This newly created Safety Officer role is hybrid in nature. You will be based out of our Albion office and on the road with regular site visits. Most of our work is across Brisbane metro, generally within 10 km of the city.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager, Project Manager, and foremen. You will be expected to learn how our raise and restump work happens on site, not just how it looks on paper. A primary focus of the role is to ensure safety practices are applied, understood by crews, and continue to improve over time.
Your role:
* Be visible on site and engage directly with raise and restump crews
* Review and improve SWMS, JSAs, and high-risk work controls
* Oversee practical toolbox talks
* Support incident response and follow-up
* Improve safety training, reporting, and inspections
* Help improve systems where they make sense
Ideal qualifications and traits:
* Cert IV in Work Health and Safety
* Construction White Card
* 3+ years in residential construction or trade-related safety, or a strong site-based role
* Working knowledge of QLD WHS legislation
* Experience reviewing SWMS and JSAs
* The ability to talk to crews without lecturing and influence without authority
* Experience improving site systems or processes
* Comfort working in a growing business
