Role Overview
Both roles support service contracts and repair of field-returned products in a Defence-regulated environment, applying low and high-powered component-level electrical skills.
Flexible work options such as a 9-day fortnight are available.
Technician Responsibilities
Test products using automated and manual equipment.
Diagnose and repair at PCBA level.
Prepare failure reports and troubleshoot.
Carry out equipment calibration and swap test equipment.
Manage stock control and maintain an organised workspace.
Follow technical procedures and Defence safety standards.
Collaborate with technicians and engineers to meet production targets.
Senior Technical Officer Responsibilities
Perform complex testing using Automated Test Equipment.
Conduct repairs, calibration and maintenance of equipment.
Prepare and manage failure reports; assist in root-cause investigations.
Lead or coordinate ad-hoc repair projects for field-returned products.
Mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
Identify and implement continuous improvement and tooling enhancements.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve diagnostic and maintenance documentation.
Review and maintain technical documentation.
Produce technical publications and test procedures.
About You
Certificate III in Electronics (Technician) or Diploma/Degree in Electronics (Senior Technical Officer), or related disciplines.
Proven experience testing and repairing high-powered electronics.
Experience in component-level maintenance of electronic assemblies.
Ideally experience in Defence, Aviation or other highly regulated environments.
Commitment to safety, accuracy and continuous improvement.
Experience mentoring or training others (Senior Technical Officer).
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Desirable).
