The East Fremantle Community Park is seeking a highly skilled Function and Events Manager to lead our hospitality team.

This exciting opportunity allows you to make a real difference in the community by delivering exceptional events and functions.

You will be responsible for developing and executing plans to drive the venue's hospitality success, working closely with the leadership team and key stakeholders.

As a hands-on front of house leader, you will inspire your team through your personal customer-focused approach and share insights into how you have shaped high-performance teams into business actions.

This role suits someone who is quick to build relationships with local patrons and sporting clubs and willing to try new things to drive revenue through the venue's hospitality business.

* Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all functions and events, ensuring seamless delivery and high client satisfaction.
* Proactively seek and secure new bookings, build relationships with local businesses, and drive event revenue growth.
* Serve as the main point of contact for clients, stakeholders, suppliers, and operational partners ensuring smooth communication and exceptional service delivery.
* Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the venue on social media, develop sales strategies, and attract new business.
* Manage event budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability while meeting revenue targets.
* Coordinate with internal teams (kitchen, bar, and operations) to ensure high-quality service and event success.
* Oversee booking systems, maintain procedure manuals, update menus, and assist with front-house operations as required.
* Recruit, train, and oversee event staff, ensuring efficient service and adherence to venue standards.
* Maintain high presentation and service standards across all function spaces.
* Ensure all events comply with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
* Monitor event sales, client feedback, and key performance metrics to improve future events and increase revenue.


About You

We are looking for a professional with relevant certifications in hospitality management or related areas.

5+ years of experience in hospitality management, particularly in functions and events, is essential.

A strong understanding of food and beverage service, event logistics, and hospitality operations is also required.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing event budgets, pricing structures, and cost control for profitability.

Prominence in hospitality management systems and operations, along with excellent client engagement skills and a focus on delivering outstanding guest experiences, is crucial.

Strong leadership and organisational skills to manage a diverse team and ensure smooth operations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are necessary.

Able to multitask, prioritise, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will possess a WA Approved Manager Certification and a National Police Check.


About the Venue

The new East Fremantle Community Park offers a welcoming and vibrant local space where sports, leisure, and recreation thrive together.

The venue features a café, full-service restaurant, and bar, as well as a range of leisure activities for children and adults of all abilities.

The precinct includes a football oval home to the East Fremantle Football Club, two bowls greens used by the East Fremantle Bowls Club, and three croquet greens where the East Fremantle Croquet Club play.

A community garden, small community facility, skate park, half-court basketball court, and dog park add to the venue's amenities.
