Role Details:

Join a passionate cross-border team driving change for children and families in Central Australia. Based in Alice Springs, the
Senior Tristate Community Worker
plays a key role in shaping a new approach to child protection through collaboration between South Australia, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory. Working alongside the NPY Women's Council, you'll help create a hub that strengthens community connections, supports Anangu families, and delivers better outcomes through shared learning, partnership, and respect for culture.

Essential Qualifications:

* AHP (Allied Health Professional)
positions are designed for applicants who hold a
Social Work qualification
and are eligible for
full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
.
* PO (Professional Officer)
positions are open to applicants with qualifications in
Community Services, Human Services, Social Sciences, Health,
or other
related fields
.

Income and Benefits for AHP Position:

* Salary:
AHP2 ($91, ,330 per annum % Super.
* Exclusive Allowance:
Additional 4.00% for child protection social workers, permanently enshrined in the Enterprise Agreement, making DCP the highest-paying government employer in South Australia.
* Professional Development:
$1,000 PD allowance, increasing incrementally each year and reimbursement of PD expenses up to $1,500 (AHP2 Level).
* Support:

* Recognition:

* Qualifications Allowance:
Available for eligible higher qualifications relevant to the role.

In this role, you will:

* Lead collaboration across SA, WA, and NT child protection systems to support families in the NPY region.
* Work closely with NPY Women's Council and local communities to deliver culturally responsive services.
* Coordinate shared information, advocacy, and referral pathways to improve outcomes for children.
* Develop strategies and preventative programs that strengthen Anangu family functioning.

To be successful in this role:

You are an experienced practitioner who thrives in collaborative, community-based environments. You bring strong knowledge of child protection practice, a deep respect for Aboriginal culture, and a commitment to supporting families in complex and remote contexts. You are skilled at building relationships, navigating systems, and finding solutions that balance care, advocacy, and accountability. Confident in both independent and team settings, you take initiative, communicate clearly, and adapt to dynamic cross-jurisdictional work.
