Role Overview
Maitland Hospital is seeking an experienced Radiographer / Sonographer to join our Medical Imaging Department. This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive, collaborative team delivering high‐quality imaging services to inpatients and outpatients across Maitland and surrounding communities. The department provides a comprehensive range of services, including General X‐ray, CT, Fluoroscopy, Mobile Imaging, and Ultrasound. The Ultrasound service covers obstetric, abdominal/pelvic, venous Doppler, and limited musculoskeletal examinations for adult and paediatric patients. Reporting to the Chief Radiographer, you will work alongside experienced clinical staff and receive full training in Hunter New England Imaging systems and mandatory NSW Health requirements.
Key Selection Criteria
* Proficiency in Ultrasound (or working toward) and General X‐ray, theatres, and mobile imaging
* Flexibility to work rotating rosters, including weekends, after‐hours, and on‐call
* Strong communication skills, including preliminary Sign 1 reporting
* Sound clinical judgement, time management, and patient‐centred care
* Commitment to professional development and quality improvement
* Ability to support peers and students
Essential Requirements
* Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent
* Eligible for AHPRA registration, current NSW EPA Radiation Licence
* Postgraduate qualification in Medical Sonography
* Current ASAR accreditation
* Willingness to participate in rosters, overtime, and on‐call duties
