About the Company
ECHO Marine Group Pty Ltd – We specialise in the manufacture of luxury superyachts and commercial vessels with steel and aluminium, we also cater for all refit and maintenance requirements on a range of vessels in the superyacht, commercial and Defence areas. We are seeking a Team Leader with suitable aluminium shipbuilding experience to join our team.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting with daily work activities and quality control.
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings to fabricate aluminium components & units to specifications
* Operating a range of fabrication equipment such as welding machines, power tools & machinery such as press, guillotine & bandsaw.
* Providing on the job training of fabricators, welders & apprentices to enhance team activity.
* Carrying out quality checks & pre survey inspections throughout the fabrication process to ensure products meet required standards.
* Collaborating with the wider production team to meet project deadlines and production targets.
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment
* As an integral team member, you will play a key role in the end delivery of both new vessels & major refits.
* Leading & working with small teams in the construction of ship modules & other projects.
* Provide leadership & oversight for the team during periods of supervisory absence.
What we're looking for
* Proven experience within the aluminium fabrication industry, with a strong understanding of aluminium ship building techniques.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Proficient in the use of fabrication equipment such as MIG welders, angle grinders, and hydraulic press brakes.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong leadership and technical expertise to ensure the successful completion of fabrication projects.
* Relevant trade qualifications in aluminium fabrication or welding.
* Experience with Navisworks will be viewed favourably.
